Why North Las Vegas Homeowners Choose CWS Construction
Stonehall Construction provides independent CWS cabinet service and installation across the area, from older Oakton raised-panel kitchens in Aliante and Eldorado to newer Shaker remodels near Centennial Hills. We’re not a CWS-authorized dealer, and we won’t pretend to be. What we are is a general contractor who has spent years pulling apart, repairing, and reinstalling CWS cabinetry, and we know exactly where these boxes fail and how to fix them without wasting your money. If your CWS kitchen needs work, call us at (833) 772-4634 for a straight answer and a free estimate.
North Las Vegas homeowners call us because CWS cabinets show up in a huge number of homes built here between 1995 and 2015. The Oakton line especially. We know the box construction, the drawer glide patterns, and the finish quirks. More important, we know which failures are worth repairing and which ones mean it’s time to stop patching and replace the run.
Nolan Briggs grew up off Carey Avenue and still works these neighborhoods every week. He’s seen enough CWS cabinetry to know the difference between a hinge that needs adjusting and a particleboard box that’s done. That local experience matters when you’re deciding whether to sink $800 into repairs or $9,000 into a new kitchen.
Why Trust Stonehall Construction for Your CWS Construction?
Because we’ve installed, repaired, and refaced enough CWS cabinetry in North Las Vegas to know the product line by line. We can spot an Oakton raised-panel door from across a kitchen, and we know the telltale signs of an Aspen thermofoil door about to delaminate. That familiarity means faster diagnosis and honest recommendations, not guesswork.
We carry CWS-compatible replacement parts locally: hinges, drawer glides, corner blocks, and door profiles for the most common CWS lines. When a single drawer box has split corners or a sink base has swelled from a slow leak, we can usually source the right replacement without waiting on a backordered factory part. And we install everything with a written workmanship warranty, which matters more than any manufacturer claim.
Nolan founded Stonehall Construction to handle the whole job, not just one trade. That means if your CWS cabinet repair turns up a soft subfloor or a bad plumbing stub-out behind the sink base, we fix it under the same contract. You’re not calling a cabinet guy, then a plumber, then a flooring company. One contractor, every trade.
We handle the coordination so you don’t have to. From the curb to the kitchen.

Common CWS Construction Problems We Fix in North Las Vegas
These are the issues we see repeatedly in North Las Vegas kitchens, from Aliante to the older subdivisions off Cheyenne:
- Oakton drawer box separation. The CWS Oakton line used particleboard sides with glued and stapled corner joints. After 20-plus years of daily use and North Las Vegas’s dry heat cycling, those joints let go. Screws pull out, the box racks, and the drawer sticks or drops. We replace the box with a plywood-sided unit matched to your existing front, or rebuild the entire drawer stack if needed.
- Aspen thermofoil peeling and blistering. The CWS Aspen line is thermofoil over MDF, and it fails predictably near heat and moisture. Bottom rails and door edges near dishwashers and sinks start peeling, then blister, then the MDF underneath swells. Once the foil separates, no amount of glue fixes it cleanly. We replace the affected doors and drawer fronts with a painted or new thermofoil finish that won’t lift.
- Hartford painted door hairline cracks. The Hartford line uses painted maple with stile-and-rail construction. In North Las Vegas, where winter mornings are cold and summer afternoons hit 110, the wood expands and contracts hard. That movement creates hairline cracks at the joints. We can repair and refinish single doors, or replace the fronts with a more stable composite if the cracking is widespread.
- Sink base cabinet floor swelling. Slow leaks under the sink get absorbed by the particleboard cabinet floor. By the time you notice, the bottom is soft and crumbling. We cut out and replace the damaged floor panel, treat the surrounding box with a waterproof liner, and then address the plumbing so it doesn’t happen again.
- Hinge and glide failures on early CWS builder-grade hardware. Older CWS cabinets shipped with basic concealed hinges and nylon-roller glides. The hinges sag under repeated use, and the glides lose their ball bearings or crack. We upgrade to soft-close hinges and full-extension undermount glides that fit the existing bore patterns.
We’ve seen it before. Here’s how we fix it.
CWS Parts & Our Repair-vs-Replace Approach
We source genuine CWS replacement doors, drawer fronts, and hinges whenever the cabinet boxes are still solid. Color and profile matching matters. A mismatched oak door on an Oakton run looks like exactly what it is: a patch. Genuine parts keep the look consistent.
When the boxes are swollen, the corner joints are failing, or the particleboard has given up, we recommend full replacement with a quality line we trust. Repairs on failing boxes are money thrown into a hole. We’ll show you the numbers side by side, and we won’t push a replacement if the repair will hold. The decision is yours.
For specialized door profiles and paint-matched finishes, we order direct and install when they arrive. Call (833) 772-4634 and we’ll tell you which path makes sense for your kitchen.
Our CWS Service Process – Step by Step
- 1
Diagnosis. We inspect the cabinets in place. We check drawer boxes for joint separation, door edges for thermofoil lift, sink bases for moisture damage, and hinges for wear. We document what we find and give you a written scope of work with line-item pricing.
- 2
Repair or replacement. If the boxes are sound, we order CWS-matched doors, drawer fronts, or hardware and schedule the repair. If the boxes are failing, we quote a full replacement or reface and walk you through the material options, including cabinet lines that hold up better in North Las Vegas conditions.
- 3
Installation. We set cabinets, adjust doors and drawers, and install soft-close hardware where specified. We level everything properly on North Las Vegas slab floors, which are rarely perfectly flat. Shims, not shortcuts.
- 4
Testing and cleanup. Every door opens and closes, every drawer slides smooth, every seam is tight. Then we clean the work area and haul off the old material. The kitchen is usable the same day.
Repairs usually take one day. Full cabinet installation or refacing runs two to five days depending on the size of the kitchen. You’ll know the schedule before we start, and it won’t drift.

AfterCWS Products We Service & Install in North Las Vegas
We work on all the CWS lines commonly found in Las Vegas area homes. The Oakton line, with its raised-panel oak doors, is what we see most in tract homes built in the 1990s and early 2000s. The Shaker line, flat-panel five-piece doors, appears in more recent remodels. The Aspen thermofoil line we call in from the field, and painted Hartford maple doors have their own pattern of seasonal movement.
We stock or source CWS-compatible drawer boxes, glides, hinges, and touch-up finishes locally. If you’re unsure which line you have, pull a drawer and a door and describe them. We’ll usually identify it in thirty seconds.
We Also Service These Brands
Stonehall Construction is not a single-brand shop. If your North Las Vegas kitchen mixes CWS cabinets with KraftMaid uppers or a Cambria countertop, we work across all of it. We also install Silestone and Kohler fixtures as part of a full remodel. One contractor handling the whole kitchen means one warranty, one schedule, and one point of contact when something needs attention.
FAQs – CWS Construction Service in North Las Vegas
Yes. If your cabinet boxes are structurally sound and the original door profile was an Oakton raised-panel door, we can order CWS-matched replacement doors in the same profile and finish. Since no one refinishes perfectly after twenty years, we’ll bring a sample next to your existing doors to confirm the match before we order. If the match is close enough, you save thousands compared to replacing the whole kitchen. Call (833) 772-4634 for an estimate.
No. Once thermofoil starts peeling, it won’t lay back down. The heat from a dishwasher breaks the adhesive bond and the foil shrinks as it lifts. The repair is replacement: we order new doors and drawer fronts in a finish that won’t lift, then swap them on your existing boxes. It’s faster and cleaner than trying to strip and paint, and the result lasts longer.
That depends on the boxes. If the boxes are solid, refacing with new doors and drawer fronts from a quality line costs roughly 40 to 60 percent of a full replacement, and it changes the look of the kitchen dramatically. If the boxes are swollen, the corner joints are separated, or the sink base is crumbling, replacement is the better call. We’ll show you the box condition before you decide, and give you honest numbers for both paths.
Yes. We install countertops over existing CWS cabinets all the time, on the condition that the cabinet runs are level and structurally sound. We inspect the boxes first. If the bases are solid, we template, fabricate, and install the quartz in a single sequence. If the bases are soft or out of level, we address that before the stone goes down. Quartz over a failing base voids your stone warranty and cracks the slab.
For a standard 10×12 kitchen in a Sunrise Manor CWS service area home, full cabinet installation runs three to five working days from demo to a finished, usable kitchen. That includes leveling on slab, setting boxes, installing doors and hardware, and cleanup. If we’re also doing countertops, add fabrication time for the stone, which we handle under the same schedule and the same contract.
