How Stonehall Construction Was Born in North Las Vegas
In 2013, we were still working for other people, watching the same story play out on job sites across North Las Vegas. A homeowner would get a quote that sounded reasonable. Then the work would start, and the price would creep. A change order here, an “unforeseen condition” there. By the time the dust settled, the final bill looked nothing like the number they’d agreed to. We saw families dip into savings they didn’t have to spare. We saw people apologize for asking questions, as if wanting to understand their own project was an inconvenience.
The breaking point came on a job near Craig Ranch Regional Park. Another contractor had walked away mid-project, leaving a family with an open wall and a stack of unpaid invoices for work that was never finished. Standing in that house, looking at what they’d been left with, the decision made itself. We would build a company where the price on the written estimate was the price at the end – no surprises, no games, no “we’ll figure it out as we go.” We’d do the work right the first time, and if something wasn’t right, we’d fix it. That was the whole idea. Simple to say, hard to do, and it’s been our compass ever since.
Our Founder’s Personal Connection to the Construction Trade
We didn’t grow up dreaming about drywall. The trade found us gradually, the way it finds a lot of people – through a problem that needed solving. When we were young, money was tight, and if something broke, you fixed it or you lived without it. The first real project we remember was patching a section of framing that had rotted through in a family member’s garage. We had no idea what we were doing. We borrowed tools, asked questions at the hardware store, made mistakes, and eventually got it standing again. It wasn’t pretty, but it was solid. That feeling – of taking something broken and making it hold – never left.
The professional path started not long after, working alongside tradespeople who had been doing this work for decades. The ones who mattered were the ones who cared. They’d run their hands along a wall like they were checking a fever. They’d stand back and look at a corner joint from three different angles before accepting it. They taught us that construction isn’t about finishing fast; it’s about finishing in a way you don’t have to apologize for later. The smell of fresh-cut lumber still takes us back to those early mornings. The weight of a good hammer, the sound of a nail setting true – those things matter. They mean the work is real.
What gets us out of bed now is simpler than people expect. We like building things that stay built. We like the moment when a homeowner walks through a finished space and their whole posture changes, because something that was causing them stress for years is finally, quietly resolved. If we weren’t doing this, we’d probably be restoring old houses or building furniture in a garage somewhere. The work would find us either way. It’s part of who we are now.
Meet Our Team – The Person Behind Every Job
Stonehall Construction is owned and led by a team that’s spent more than a decade in the construction trade across Southern Nevada. We’re not a franchise technician running through a corporate checklist. We’re local builders who live here, work here, and understand how the North Las Vegas climate – the summer heat, the alkaline soil, the shifting ground – affects the structures we all live in. That local knowledge shapes every estimate we write and every job we take on.
Outside of work, we’re the kind of people who still fix things ourselves before calling someone. Old trucks, stubborn gates, anything with a hinge. It’s a value that carries straight into the business: we treat every project like it’s on our own property. That’s the commitment. When we put our name on a job, we’re putting our reputation on it too, and we don’t take that lightly.
Our Promise to North Las Vegas Homeowners
Honest pricing is our foundation. It started with that 2013 wake-up call and it hasn’t softened since. Every project gets a written, line-item estimate. If the scope doesn’t change, neither does the price. If something unexpected does come up during the work, we stop and talk to you about it before proceeding – never after the fact.
Quality parts and materials are non-negotiable. We work with proven manufacturers like Therma-Tru and Master Halco because we’ve seen what cheap materials do to a project three years after the crew leaves. The savings aren’t worth the callbacks. We’d rather use the right product once than the wrong one twice.
And we stand behind every job. If something we built isn’t right, we come back and make it right. That’s not a slogan; it’s just how we’ve always operated.
Our Credentials
Before you hire anyone to work on your home in North Las Vegas, here’s what you should know about us:
- State-licensed – every pro working under our name is required to hold the license the state of Nevada requires for their trade. No exceptions.
- Insured and bonded – we carry the coverage Nevada requires to protect you and your property while work is underway.
- Local experience – we’ve been serving North Las Vegas and the surrounding communities since 2013, and we’ve learned this valley’s construction challenges the only way you can: by working through them, year after year.
- Reputation built on referrals – much of our work comes from neighbors recommending us to neighbors. That kind of trust is earned slowly, and we treat it carefully.
Why do these credentials matter? Because when someone works inside your home, you’re trusting them with more than drywall and lumber. You’re trusting them with your family’s safety and your biggest investment. A licensed, insured contractor is accountable in ways an unlicensed worker never can be, and that accountability protects you long after the job is finished.
Rooted in North Las Vegas
We’re part of this community, not just doing business in it. You’ll find us at the local hardware store talking through a problem with a DIYer, or at Aliante’s parks on a day off. We know the neighborhoods – from the older homes near downtown North Las Vegas to the newer developments west of the 215. That’s not marketing language. It’s just where we live. And we’d be honored to work on your home next.
